Filter Paper Grade
In crucial research areas that impact ever advancing scientific industries, it is vital to be equipped with the right lab tools, like to choose the right filter paper. Filter papers are critical filtration products, and are used under various conditions for specific samples depending on the type of  filter paper grade. These filter paper grades define the design, structure, function and application of various filter papers for specific purposes and samples.

 
Definition of Various Grades of Filter Paper

Various grades are set to filter papers to define the applications for which the filter papers are meant to be used. Porosity, wet strength, compatibility, capacity, particle retention, flow rate and efficiency are some of the considerations and parameters that go into defining a specific grade for a particular type of quantitative filter papers. Volume or surface filtration as well as the raw materials that go into manufacturing filter paper also adds to classification of its grade.

Standard grades for quantitative filter papers define how retentive the papers the flow rate, the capacity and density of these papers are. Filter paper Grade 1 is the initial filter paper grades given to papers that are used for routine applications and that have medium flow and retention rates. Filter paper Grades go up as high as 602 h, which indicates a filter paper that is very dense and that filters with great precision and takes care of even the minute particles.

Filter paper Grade definition does not rest solely on the manufacturer of the filter paper. Rather, the set standards in the research industry defines these grades, and it is therefore much simpler to identify a type of filter paper and its application based on the grade set to it
